BARD Foundation Joins Hands with Musawi and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Celebrate Sports for Social Impact
Lahore, Pakistan – BARD Foundation proudly partnered with Musawi and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to co-host a welcome lunch in honor of two inspiring sports personalities—international hockey legend Floris Jan Bovelander and Dutch-Pakistani footballer Kayanat Bokhari.
Held in Lahore, the event brought together a diverse group of sports leaders, government representatives, and social impact champions to explore the role of sports in fostering inclusion, empowerment, and positive change.
The gathering was graced by distinguished guests including Her Excellency Ambassador Henny de Vries, Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood (President, BARD Foundation & Co-founder, LUMS), Provincial Minister Faisal Khokhar (Sports & Youth Affairs and Labour & Human Resource), Ms. Asma Hamid (Honorary Consul, Kingdom of the Netherlands for Punjab), and Mr. Hassan Ali (Chairperson, Standing Committee on Youth Affairs and Sports, Punjab Assembly).
The event featured the participation of celebrated athletes and change agents such as Olympic gold medalist Tauqeer Dar, world-renowned mountaineer Shehroze Kashif, and Zainab Ali Raza, a Special Olympics gold-medalist cyclist.
Also in attendance were individuals working to create inclusive opportunities through sport and advocacy, including Ms. Rubab Askari (Punjab Special Olympics), Mr. Hamza Syed (Founder, Legends Academy Pakistan), Ms. Anya Raza (Writer & Filmmaker), Ms. Aaminah Qadir (Co-founder, She-her), and Ms. Erum Baloch (Founder, Star Women’s Sports Academy, Jacobabad).
Representing the host organizations were Ms. Fatima Yasmin Bokhari (Founder & CEO, Musawi), Barrister Khadija Yasmin Bokhari (Director Litigation & Advocacy, Musawi), and senior representatives from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands including Ms. Heske van Boekel, Mr. Cas Van der Knaap, and Ms. Hina Idrees.
This gathering highlighted the power of cross-sector collaboration in advancing social development through sports and reaffirmed BARD Foundation’s commitment to empowering youth and athletes across Pakistan.
