The BARD Foundation, in collaboration with the Markhor Squash Foundation (USA), successfully launched an intensive squash training camp in Lahore, Pakistan — a powerful step towards reviving the country’s legacy in the sport.
Held at the Punjab Squash Complex, this high-impact training program brought together emerging national players and local coaches for an immersive experience led by international squash coach Omar Ahmed AbdelAziz from Egypt.
The camp focused on:
Skill development for players
Technical and tactical training
Coach mentorship and capacity building
Match strategy and performance assessment
This initiative reflects BARD Foundation’s unwavering commitment to youth development, sports excellence, and community empowerment. It also supports Markhor Squash Foundation’s mission to create a sustainable pipeline of world-class squash talent in Pakistan.
Coach Omar emphasized the importance of consistent training, exposure to international standards, and long-term planning to elevate the level of squash in Pakistan. Players expressed enthusiasm and a renewed sense of direction, calling the camp a transformational experience.
As this collaboration continues to grow, it aims to provide future athletes with the tools, opportunities, and global exposure they need to represent Pakistan proudly on international courts.
